In Frame the studio backdrop transforms into a drooping figure and a rectangular square, attempts to queer the studio space by breaking hierarchies and suggesting new orders. The backdrop no longer operates as a mere support for the portrait but has become a protagonist in its own right that references the photographic forms: the human figure and the 5x4" frame.
